interment within a grave has been the preferred choice of Western,
and many other, societies. Today the range of options has extended
from the traditional monumental grave (in-ground burial covered entirely
by a monument and headstone) to include plaque or headstone lawn graves
and vaults involving significant below-ground construction. |
