Searching for Deceased

Use the Deceased Enquiries page to search our database of deceased in the Memorial Parks. The form searches in Fawkner Memorial Park, Northern Memorial Park and Coburg Cemetery. The cemetery is shown in the 'detailed information' obtained by clicking on the surname of deceased in the 'search results page'. To display the detailed information in a format suitable for most printers, click the printer icon on the search results page. Then use your web browser to print the page as normal.

At minimum, you must know the correct spelling of the surname and an initial letter of the first name of the deceased you are searching for, for example, T Smith. The surname field searches for exact matches whereas the first name field searches for names beginning with what you type, for example "Tr" would return "Trevor", "Tristan" and so on.

It is necessary to enter something in the first-name field to limit the number of results returned, as some last names are very common. For example, searching for the surname 'Smith' would return some 3,843 records. As we divide the response into pages of 20 lines, this would produce 193 pages of data to browse. Refining the search to first names beginning with A still returns 442 records on 23 pages. We believe that this is the maximum reasonable amount of data to provide to our Website users.

Successful searches will return a list of matches. Clicking on the surname of deceased in the list will show detailed information and other deceased in that location if applicable.

Searching for a Upcoming Funeral Service

There are several ways to find an upcoming service.

Clicking on Today's Services in the shortcut bar at the top of the browser, or using the menu option Today's Services lists all services for the current date.

Using the menu option Next Seven Days lists all services in the coming 7 days (including the current day).

Using the menu option Search for a Service allows you to search for a funeral service by either date or surname of deceased.

A successful search will return a list of deceased detailing date and service location. Clicking on the surname shows detailed information. Clicking on the location links to a map of the park. If a location is shown as Burial then the detailed information will specify where the service is to take place.
